Every word of God is pure: he is a shield unto them that put their trust in him. Add thou not unto his words, lest he reprove thee, and thou be found a liar.
(Pro 30:5-6)
The only way to NOT be a liar when it comes to the Word of God, is to know the Word of God. How many people believe that "God helps those who help themselves" is in the Bible? A lot!
Guess what? It's NOT. So anyone who says that is a liar.
The same thing applies to those who take scripture and twist it, or take scripture out of context to support some bit of doctrine or dogma.
Before you accept what anyone says about the Word, go to the Word for yourself. Believe me, just because someone stands in the pulpit expounding on the Bible, doesn't mean you can believe everything being said.
